about

A demo of some of the newer Ensuing Disaster songs we had been working on. Since it'll be an undetermined amount of time until an actual ED release, I've decided to put this mostly finished demo from 2019/20 online. I hope it inspires you to do something fun.

lyrics

I still won't turn the lights on cause I hear you slamming on my door
I need a little alone time cause I don't know myself anymore
Tighten up with the covers like a tourniquet
Holding my breath to pretend I'm not in terrible debt
To my friends, I mean no disrespect, but if you'd get off my back...
I'd really appreciate it

(You don't believe in love)
Yeah, you're right. I guess I don't
(You don't believe in much)
Well what's the point when it all ends up like that night I dropped you off on your father's porch and he said--

"Solitude slips you into a bottomless rut
No way out, no white clouds, no noise."

I never heard a sound cause you knew your way around
The stairwell's whines, the traps and spells
My ammo to slow folks down
Well you know my safe's combination, got both keys to my front door
And this insane isolation ain't doing it for me anymore, so I skipped the drive and this time--
I walked home

So solitude slips you into a bottomless rut
No way out, no white clouds, no noise
Until it erupts and emotions like magma flowing over the cusp
In the wake of my self destruct
Stirring in among the ashes and dried mud, I'd bury my sins like seeds sown under the rocks
